Toros de TijuanaThe Liga Mexicana de Beisbol (LMB) represents over a century of history and tradition in Mexican sports. Founded in 1925 by visionaries Alejandro Aguilar Reyes "Fray Nano" and Ernesto Carmona, it has established itself as the country's premier summer baseball competition. Currently, the league is composed of 20 franchises, equally divided into the North Zone and the South Zone, which fosters intense regional rivalries and a high level of competition.
The 93-game regular season tests the endurance and strategy of each team, setting the stage for a dramatic postseason. Six teams from each zone advance to the playoffs, a direct elimination system that includes a wild card round, divisional series, and zone finals. The champions of each zone face off in the Serie del Rey, an event that captivates Mexican baseball and determines the winner of the Copa Zaachila.
Beyond the competition, the LMB is a social phenomenon. Stadiums like the Palacio Sultán in Monterrey or the Alfredo Harp Helú in Mexico City are temples where baseball culture is experienced with music, local cuisine, and an unparalleled energy.
