Sp.Vg. Blau-Weiß 1890 Berlin is an emblematic German football club from the Mariendorf district of Berlin, with a history dating back to the founding of its predecessor clubs, Berliner FC Vorwärts 1890 and BTuFC Union 1892. The official merger in 1927 brought to life an entity that has been a protagonist in various eras of German football. Among the most notable milestones of its predecessors are the German championship won by Union in 1905 and Vorwärts' runner-up finish in 1921. Blau-Weiß 90 itself reached the Gauliga Berlin-Brandenburg, becoming champions in 1939 and 1942, which allowed them to participate in the final round of the German championship, reaching the semi-finals in 1942.
After World War II, the club was reconstituted and continued its journey, even playing one season in the top tier of German football, the Bundesliga, during the 1986/87 campaign. Despite facing financial difficulties that led to a re-founding in 1992 as SV Blau Weiss Berlin, the club has maintained its spirit and in 2015 recovered its traditional name Sp.Vg. Blau-Weiß 1890 Berlin. Today, the team competes with determination in regional leagues, backed by a loyal fanbase that values the tradition and pride of its colours.
