Racing Club de France Football, an entity with deep roots in Paris's sporting history, was born as the football section of Racing Club de France in 1896, a multi-sport club founded in 1882. Its headquarters are located in Colombes, a suburb northwest of the French capital. Throughout its existence, RC Paris has been a prominent protagonist in French football, especially between the 1930s and 1950s, when it reached the peak of its success. In this golden era, the club won the Ligue 1 title in the 1935-36 season and lifted the Coupe de France on five occasions (1936, 1939, 1940, 1945, 1949), establishing itself as a national powerhouse.
Known as 'Les Pingouins' or 'Les Ciels et Blancs' for their traditional colors, Racing also had a resurgence in the early 1960s, achieving two consecutive league runner-up finishes in 1961 and 1962. The club was a founding member of Ligue 1 and also participated in the predecessor league organized by the USFSA, winning that championship in 1907. Despite facing financial and sporting difficulties in subsequent decades, which led it to compete in lower divisions such as the Championnat National 3 today, RC Paris remains a respected name with a rich heritage. Its stadium, the Stade Yves-du-Manoir, is a historic venue that even hosted the 1938 World Cup final.
